Lake Havasu City's main attraction is the London Bridge.  The city was built as a planned city by Robert P. McCullouch -- an oil magnate or founder of McCullouch chain saws -- in 1964.

McCullouch bought the bridge in 1968 and it was opened in 1971 after being disassembled in London and reassembled in Havasu City.

Other sights around town maintained the British theme.

The temperature was over 100 degrees at 10:00 P.M and it was projected to be at 115 degrees the next day.  We canceled our reservation for the next day and left after church.

It was cool in Havasu Bible Church and the members commented on the start of summer and the intense heat.  They said that it was ideal in the winter.  The visitor's center  was a particularly attractive welcome area.
